DMX
DMX is a dynamic air transfer system that creates cushions of moving air. The cushions of air react to your walking stride and deliver new levels of comfort and cushioning.

GORE-TEX MEMBRANE SYSTEM
The GORE-TEX membrane works the same way as the human skin. The wafer-thin membrane has billions of tiny pores. This allows moisture in the form of water vapor to escape. In addition, it prevents wind and rain penetration. Feet remain comfortable and dry throughout a wide range of activities.

SEAM-SEAL SYSTEM
This system consists of waterproof leather, a gussetted tongue, and seam caulking to help prevent water from leaking through the stitching. It provides water resistance for walking in short rain showers.

TOUCH POINT TECHNOLOGY
This technology consists of a layer of rubber cones strategically positioned into cavities of the sole. The cones bend to match the contours of the foot and varying foot pressures. This provides a massaging sensation and unique comfort.

Powered by DMX applies air transfer technology to a component embedded in the midsole.

DMX WALK
Component is placed between the midsole and outsole. Provides great cushioning.

DMX 10
A ten-pod system positioned between the midsole and outsole. Provides air transfer from heel to forefoot but the air is more evenly distributed across the heel and forefoot than the DMX Walk.

DMX FlowPak
The thin design of the DMX FlowPak allows for placement in footwear with a slim profile. Positioned on top of midsole providing strong air transfer sensation and cushioning.

COMFORT BY DMX
Footbed made of an air and foam filled bladder provides comfort and massaging layer of cushioning.

ROCKPORT FOOTBEDS

MOLDED EVA FOOTBED
Very lightweight removable molded EVA footbed conforms to the shape of the foot to provide cushioning and personalized support.

KINETIC AIR CIRCULATOR FOOTBED
This polyurethane footbed provides enhanced cushioning. The patented technology design promotes active air movement for a cooler, more comfortable foot.

ROCKPORT FEATURES

WALKING PLATFORM
Rockport's patented construction based on a San Crispino stitchdown heel and strobel forefoot. This provides great rearfoot stability, forefoot flexibility and long-term comfort.

SAN CRISPINO CONSTRUCTION
A type of stichdown construction that provides a wide base of support for heel stability. The upper material is flared outward and wrapped around and under the edge of an extended insole board. The upper is stitched close to the last and cemented to the sole.

GENUINE HANDSEWN CONSTRUCTION
A shoe construction made of a single piece of leather wrapped around the last to form the bottom and sides of the shoe upper. Often a vamp plug is handsewn to the sides of the shoe to form the top of the vamp. Genuine handsewn constructions are often very flexible with a relaxed comfortable vamp shape.

STROBEL CONSTRUCTION
The upper is stitched to a light flexible insole sometimes made of a canvas-like material. This produces a flexible shoe with cushioning augmented by the midsole which can be felt through the insole material.

SHANK
The shank is a reinforcement for the "bridge" between the heel and ball area of the shoe. It is crucial in stiffening the midfoot region of the shoe. This component is sandwiched between the outsole and insole in the arch area to provide midfoot support.
